Hi all.

It's cold and miserable in Rochester, NY at the moment, leaving me to fiddle around with the G9 indoors.

Coming from an SLR film background (and making film for 30 years at Eastman Kodak) I sold my SLR gear to a freshman RIT student and am just venturing back into image making again after a long hiatus. Fortunately photographic basics are universally the same as before, but, I need to get up to speed with the digital tools that are available in abundance and sharpen my skills considerably.

You all seem like an astute bunch, so, I'll learn what I can and hopefully share some helpful info as well along the way.

I've included a few "snapshots" that I have taken to get me started with learning the G9 menus and subsets.

Of course critiquing is welcome. That's why I am here...to learn.

Nice-Dang I love these little cameras, I was in a similar position about 8 months ago, it's really fun and while in some ways the same, in many really different. One of the hardest areas is that digital doesn't have the latitude of film and most of the time that's okay but the rest it's downright discouraging creatively. But processing at home immediately on your computer is wonderful-fantastic.

You said it. I already have spent most of my professional career at Kodak working in the dark. Photoshopping on my Mac at home is a wonderful change of pace for me. My dinner long ago has had the hint of the chemicals that I working with all day tainting my palette. :)
