Does anyone know why Canon came up with the image sizes for the 20 D? Large in inches is 48.667 x 32.444; small is 24 x 16 and I never checked med. It would be nice if there was a size that would reduce in proportion to a normal 8 x 10, 5 x 7 or 4 x 6 print without croping. Any thoughts???

The sensor has the exact same 2x3 ratio sensor as 35mm film. Doing the math, 35mm does not produce a full-frame 8x10, or 5x7, but it does with an 8x12 or 4x6. And personally, I like an 8x12 shot MUCH more than 8x10. Kinda like standard TV vs. wide-screen.

I must agree with you on that but I still think it would be nice to do a 8 x 10 print without croping.........

Go to Costco and get 8x12's. You'll change your mind.
