I have followed this series on TV for years and always wanted to see one live, so when the chance came to be trackside, I couldn't pass it up. The weather in Valcourt, was sunny for most of both days of racing, but the wind just seemed to blow right through me.
WPSA tracks are alot different from the circuit I normally shoot, in that most of the snow is man-made, and there is alot more colour in the form of signage and banners. The tracks also have alot more snow, which makes them alot higher, and therefore tougher to get certain shots.
These guys are really fast, and big air is the norm, and so is the throttle taped to the bar style of riding. The highlight of the weekend for me, was seeing the Ski-Doo mounted riders get their butts handed to them in their own backyard, as the factory is but a few miles up the road from the track.
Heres a couple from the Semi-pro action.
