I finally made it out to one of the old sugar factories around my house. I have been dieing to go out to this one in particular. The only problem is I don't think I did it any justice. Any C/C would be appriciated as well as telling me which of the two you like better. Thanks for looking.

Some may say otherwise, but I beleive it is. I used Photomatix to achieve these results.

Nice, the b&w conversion in No.2 looks very cool.

Thank you rooey and dugcross. I think I am leaning to the bw also, Sherb.

First off - I really like it.
But it looks like you've over burned it a bit - the sections along the top of the building look unaturally dark and patchy.
My eye is drawn to these areas - also the unusual siloette at the top of the chimney attracts my eye too.
Brilliant atmosphere though - I'd love to see the original shot

Down here in Puerto Rico, if left enough time things will grow anywhere and everywhere. That silhouette at the top of the stack is a large bush growing.
As you can see from the attached image, the sky was pretty bad yesterday. I would have liked to try and work the original image but my pp skills are not anywhere I need them to be. I may try masking the +2 and-2 images later on.

I really like the second shot you posted too. The blue sky behind the building makes it look like the heavens aren't too far from this cold, dark place :P

Hmm, this is odd for me, but I really don't know which I prefer, the color or b/w version! Both are quite moody and well done, interesting conversion.

To be honest, I have 2 other bw versions and really had a hard time choosing which one to post. I have 4 versions of the same pic and each one has its own qualities. Finally I picked the one posted just because it was the first one I converted.

I really like the first 2. It would be hard to choose between them. They make me think of scary movies for some reason. But, they are definitely super nice. ¡buenísimo trabajo!
