How many POTN members going to Silverstone this year I wonder?

I see the entry fee has crept up a little this year :rolleyes:.

I am looking to go. Will be travelling down from Norfolk. Never been to F1 before and am relaly looking forward to it.
Great images by the way, love that one of the McClaren.
Where are the best places to get some good pics? Would appreciate some advice form the POTN members who have been before. I know I'm gonna need some 400mm reach!

Hi Aaron

Although I live just a few miles from the track, I've only been to two F1 testing meets (2006 & 2007). So I'm probably not the best person to give advice, but I personally have found the Luffield complex to be a quite good, I've also got some good shots from Stowe corner as well. I found 400mm a little on the short side on my full frame camera.

:lol: it used to be free... now they charge? There's not even any racing going on for Pete's sake. Is this the session in June or have they now announced an earlier one?

The dates are 25/26/27 June, with admission of £12. (from the Silverstone website)

Last year the only spectator areas open were from just before Bridge round to Copse.

If the same restrictions on F1 pre race testing apply as last year, there is only one car from each team.

I'll also thinking of going. I've only really been to the limited access free days so would be interested to see what the photo opportunities are like around other parts.

Undoubtedly. Well you won't catch me paying out to watch a bunch of over-powered advertising hoardings going round one at a time. Silverstone is dull enough when there's racing on; the tedium of a test day must be unbelievable.

I wish I was. We get CRAP for F1 and now lost USGP(joke of a race) and only have Canada...

Not really, but its £15 on the gate or £12 if booked in advanced.

Thanks, it was my first proper outing with that combo. I went out and practiced panning shots from a bridge near a public road before I went to Silverstone.
