Hi all,

Yikes - have only shot a few frames with the 135 on a 1Ds, nothing serious yet, just checking it works and getting a feel for it. Current opinion is that it looks like a wonderful lens, reasonably fast, excellent for people and the backgrounds are to die for.

Cmm - I have several, a small over the shoulder number, a mini trekker, a dryzone 200, a photo trekker and the unmovable super trekker. We got the super second hand several years ago. Spent ages cleaning it and getting rid of the smell (guess it was in someones attic) when I finally loaded it up it became obvious that with benbo mk2 strapped to it that it wasnt practical to use. It was hard to lift and you really didnt want walk anywhere with it on. So my main bag for holidays and long away from home shoots is the photo trekker, 2 cameras and 8-10 lenses, if i know what the shoot is going to be about then I will load the dryzone with the specific lenses I need. Regarding the mule, thats what the wife uses me for... We did think about getting a golf cart crossed with an ATV but if your planning is that lax then go and photograph something more accessable

sGu - yeah as soon as i get the chance to use it in anger I will post something on here. Unfortunately Life is getting in the way of fun at the moment

BrandonSi - You gonna pay me a visit brandon :)...123a the high street, Newtown, Hamptonburgevilleshire. Yeah it looked like some of the wifes cd's had died on us and she was really unhappy about losing the pictures. worst thing was there was nothing that I could say to cheer her up... and as any of you husbands out there know thats a horrible situation to be in. So to make sure that it didn't happen again the easy solution was to get some near line storage. and because they are so portable (smaller than a sheet of a4 and only 1.5 inches thick) it is easy to keep one off site. The good news is that when we checked her off site cd's they were fine, so we didnt lose anything - phewww.

Phil1 - Several years back I went on a skye in focus holiday, took the 14, 15, 50, 85 1.8, (24/45/90 tse), 16-35, 24-70, 70-200, d60 and eos3. The eos 3 never left the bag and the only lens I didnt use was the 85 1.8. So yeah I guess that I use everything given the chance. The trouble with starting a camera store is that you have to let the items go if someone wants to buy them. I guess i could price everything at 5x the going market value... Anyone want to buy a 200mm f 1.8, some paintwork chips, £15k...

And for anyone who has read this far... get insurance, I've hever had to use them, and they get a wedge of cash every year but i dont worry, there are enough things to stress about without worrying about replacing gear.

Best regards

Great equipment
The 135F2L is the best lens I've ever used, in every respect.

Btw, I was looking at your equipment list. It was looking pretty pathetic, so it's a good thing you got a new lens to give it a boost :P

Hi drisley and abel,

well if you guys want to help out with some cash for a 24 or 35 f1.4L I'm not gonna say no, or something long and prime. Would even settle for a phased plasma rifle in the 20 to 40 megawatt range, but canon glass for preferance.

best wishes
