New G9 owner - Got it for £264 NEW!

Hi

I put an order in for a brand new Canon Powershot G9 digital camera on 16.02.2008 and it arrived today on 20.02.2008.

It cost me £264 including postage and packaging. That's from the USA to the UK. It's from www.bestpricedbrands.co.uk (http://www.bestpricedbrands.co.uk)

I think this is a really good deal as I've seen this camera for as much a £399! (Jessops).

I just need to have a play with it now and find out all it's features. I currently had a slr Canon EOS 500.

i don't think that it shipped here from the usa considering the currency and website.. very pricy still imo. its about $512, whereas some places here in usa would sell it for about $440. enjoy your new camera! i'm still debating whether or not i should bump up from my old sd630 to the g9.

Used the camera last night and so far I'm quite frankly blown away by it's performance.

Good UK price. Def visit that site for price checks in future. My G9 cost £298 (incl p&p) from Jersey.

Yeah 289 is the cheapest UK price I'm aware of currently. (AJ Electronics)

Although not the cheapest I see the G9 is in the Argos catalog for £299 which is the cheapest I've seen from a high street store.

Further, Amazon.co says the list price is $500 and they are sell it for $439.99, which probably includes shipping since most purchases over $25 include free ground shipping.

For U.K. there is also www.egears.co.uk (http://www.egears.co.uk) It's on there for £265.99.

The only problem with these US imports is that Canon Uk won't honour the warranty so you have to deal with the reseller. Hopefully, you won't have any issues....

Yeah that's one of the things I didn't think of when buying it. Oh well. I'm thinkning the money I saved was worth it.
