Photo To dark in Auto mode (G9)

When i take a picture in auto mode with the flash turned of the photo will be much to dark. When i do the same in TV or AV mode the picture is just fine. So can anybody explain to me why this is?

I think it's because in auto mode it will only allow the shutter speed to be so long to prevent camera shake... Try switching the ISO to "High"
