I have a growing list of lenses that i intend to own in the next few years.
Got:
50mm f/1.8 (i dont think i'll ever spring for the 1.4)
70-200 f/2.8
Want:
17-40
15mm fisheye
100-400 (or 400/500mm prime)
135 f/2
and more recently 35mm f/1.4
This lens has been the topic of many raves on the FM boards in recent months but i have never really seen anyone here talk about them.
Anyone got one? Show us some pics!

Never heard of it.
But then, I don't hang out at FM.

I must admit i'm shocked to hear that from your mouth, but then again that is my point.
It also just goes along with my theory that lenses are a bit of a fad. We just recently went through a 135 f/2 fad. Not that it's a bad thing, it's an amazing lens.
For starters look at the animated reviews http://www.fredmiranda.com/reviews/showproduct.php?product=24&sort=1&size=medium&thec at=2
http://www.the-digital-picture.com/Reviews/Canon-EF-35mm-f-1.4-L-USM-Lens-Review.aspx
Then go do a Pbase search of it.

Tim:
Your thread title is "34mm f/1.4: Lets see some examples."
I guess I'm nit-picking, but you appear to be talking about the 35mm f/1.4. I think you might have just sent a whole bunch of people (me included) off on a wild google chase looking for the extremely rare 34mm f/1.4 lens.

There is the guy "Joe Mama" in the dpreview forum who's favourite lens is the 35/1.4. Have a look there...

It's a great lens, quite good even wide open at f/1.4, and great bokeh. Just bought it recently so I have not yet taken all that many pictures but it feels very good so far. Here are two with shallow DOF, slightly exaggerated pictures perhaps as they were taken for two photo challenges:

nice fill flash in the second shot!
Timmy, apart from it's sharp and large aperture, any particular reason you want this lens? just don't see the potential for a sports shooter, assuming that's what you want to do ...
I also have a few lenses on my wishlist, here it goes:
15mm 2.8 fisheye
85mm 1.8
135mm 2 L
200mm 1.8 L(if it's a good copy with reasonable price)
300mm 2.8 IS L(soon hopefully)
400mm 2.8 IS L(one day ...)
600mm 4 IS L(some day ...)

this would make an awesome lens for studio photography *I think*
I need a fast wide angle prime...
I wonder if the red stripe and the extra stop are worth the extra $800 :? .
the 35mm f/2.0 looks pretty cool.

From what I've read when researching which 35mm to buy the 35/2 is a great value. Drawbacks are a buzzy non-USM focus motor and not as nice bokeh as the 35/1.5. On the other hand it is very small and light and decently priced. I tried it in a store and was very tempted, the focus noise wasn't that bad unless you refocus from closeups to infinity when it sounds like a "wasp in a matchbox" as someone wrote. :) The 35/2 is definitely good value for money. Petteri Sulonen has a nice review of the lens at http://www.prime-junta.tk/

I listen to bach, and beastie boys
I read books and i was a linebacker in HS
I like fast cars, and quiet walks in the woods.
In a nutshell i'd say i'm a pretty well rounded guy, my photography is the same, and i hope it never changes.

Until your camera/lens comes back from Canon, I suggest you do the following:
1. listen to some Bach and/or Beasty Boys
2. Read a book about linebacking
3. Drive your car into a tree.
The time will pass very quickly.

My time will definitely pass quickly if I drive my car into a tree.
