Any info on split focusing screens that can be fit in to D30?

Build in auto focus is known to be annoyingly bad and there is no way to do precise manual focus without any sort of focusing screen.

I'm pretty sure one of existing Canon focusing screens can be trimmed (at local glass shop) to fit in to D30.

Looking for input/suggestions.

Thanks.
Oleg.

Brightscreen ( http://www.brightscreen.com/ ) claims to have screens for the D60 and D30, but you have to send them the body. And $200. The default screen has crop-marks for 8x10 format--useful for portrait or wedding folks shooting to a specific size.

I'm not sure which, if any, of their general screens could be fitted; they make microprism, split-image, etc. screens.

Note: I've not used their screen in a D30/D60, but do have them in my older T90 and F1, and they are much brighter than those [relatively antique] camera's stock screens.

I was going to try and tool a bright screen down too. But have not got to it yet because I shoot my 1D too much. I put a Bettie Bright screen in my 1D and it made a world of difference. I would recomend sending it in before an attempt to do it yourself. I could effect the focus accuracy if it is not placed in correctly.
