It's certainly an improvement, but feels a little overdone to me, unnatural. I would also fix the horizon, which is dropping slightly to the right.

It looks a bit over cranked. But you did start with a miserable out of focus image unless you saved that original with low quality setting to make it smaller in disk size.

Thats a good first effort!

I think the comments about overusing some of photoshops effects is valid. I've been using photoshop for about 8 years and I still tend to overplay things.

If you are intending to go to print with your work, you'll find that you can up the saturation and sharpness without suffering the image.

You're right, it is overdone, but it is the first time I tried editing from Raw, and I wanted to see how far I can push it. I guess that's a bit too far :)

The originals were taken with the worst light possible, an overcast sky, late afternoon, actually my first outside tests of my camera, so I didn't have much of a clue on what I was doing :)
