Hi. I'm purchasing a demo model of a canon digital camera. Is there any difference between the demo and the retail version other than the lack of cords and manual? Also, how do I get the cords and manual I need from Canon and are they expensive on average?

Thanks,

Dave

Can't tell what "difference" there IS between the store demo, and a new one, but a new one is more likely not to have external damages hidden away beneath the covers. (A demo may have been dropped, had liquid spilt on it, attachments may have been improperly used with it, or even used as a hammer... You don't really know.)

It is likely having the full packaging at the get go, is a lot less hassle then replacing the cables, cd, and/or manual.

Cables are likely replaceable at the local electonics store (but maybe not if the cable is Canon only) If you have to go through Canon, don't expect the replacements to be cheap.

The drop in cost (for the demo model) may or may not be worthwhile...

Thanks for the good advice, Stopbath. I emailed canon about their prices for such things and I'm waiting for their reply.
