In your IBM micro drive, what happens if you
seal the hole in the back that says "do not seal
this hole"? Just wondering.

Most harddisks have a small hole to allow air to flow in and out of the housing so that you don't get problems when the air pressure changes (because of the weather, for example). There is an air filter between the hole and the actual inside of the harddisk to prevent dust from getting in.

If you cover the hole (with tape, for example), you'll probably shorten the lifespan of the harddisk......... :roll: :)

I have no real idea...... Can't imagine it would be a good thing since they went through the trouble of saying "don't do it'....

What he said... He has to do with pressurization... If you live down by the ocean then decide to go up to pikes peak, it isn't going to work...

It's for the hamster. Occasionally they have to go out and relieve themselves. :roll:

...pretty sure they use fleas in microdrives, hamster fur tends to stop up the hole :D
