Interested in comments on this shot taken recently in Melbourne. Taken early evening with the sun setting.

Sorry, but nothing in this shot really catches my interest.

Except for the pigeon almost being in the spotllight;) this doesn't pull me in any direction. Snapshot?

Hate to say it, but there's nothing in this image that draws me in. No distinct, clear subject or lighting or anything. Also, the image, although it could just be me, seems to be slightly leaning to the left.

The lighting is certainly interesting, although it doesn't seem to favor any particular object in the foreground.
The tonal range and the exposure are good in that you have the entire range of tonality covered and you've stayed within the extremes of the histogram and captured everythng that was there.
Now, we have to ask, Dave, what were you getting at?

Thank you for your comments. I was trying to capture feel as distinct from subject. This is normally a very busy street in Melbourne( Australia), cafes shops etc (Bourke Street for those that may know it). The shot was taken on a Sunday afternoon at 6pm when most places are closed and the street presents a very different feel to what it's like normally. The closed cafe and setting sun glancing through the trees was what is was about. Seem what I felt did not convey as well as I thought.

If what you were trying to capture was late afternoon, and the place feeling deserted then maybe an angle that showed more down the walk where it would have looked empty. This would have also provided a leading edge/line to drawn you into the image.
