Now they are very, very good and would not look out of place framed and hanging on anyone's wall.

Would you mind breaking down what you did to create these?

Cheers,

Simon.

Wow, it's clear looking at the originals that quite a bit of post processing was put into these. However the final images look very natural; in other words, WOW! Great job processing these.

These photos were just experiments actually..................done fairly fast and just seeing how they would look...............so i know there are edgy selections...................

But since you said you could do better...........lets see..........but do it in the time i did them in and then we will see...........

And if you wanna know how long...........about 15min..........if you could do it in that time and with no "edgy" selections.........then you are the best man!..........lol

In fewer word............i know about the edgy selections.................

Rosco, I'm even more impressed if these are the results of 15 minutes in photoshop. Leaving aside the selection and cut out of the car, are you able to share the remainder of the work you did to create the final image?

I had a go at doing this with one of my pics, but i just couldnt get the right ballence of colour, it dosent look right in my pics with the car bright to me. Here is my attempt anyway.

All credit to you those two pics are amazing,

Any suggestions or re edits of it gladly accepted.

amazing, thanks for having an edit of mine rosco, will have a play later on.

Had a go at this motorbike myself, used a bit more usm on the biker and changed the shadow highlights on him. also straightened up the rumble strip.

Have just had a look on another moniter and it looks much darker? how is it for you guys?

These are awesome. I'm just getting into CS2 a little deeper. Is there any tutorial online or could somebody post a quick step-by-step to how these are done?? Thanks very much.

i did it like this (not to say i did it right)

Choose image, one without too many odd bits and pieces, something like an f1 car would be a nightmare i would imagine (makes the above pics all the more impressive)

Prepare the size etc, rotation crop of the final image.

Cut the car out very carefully (i used the line cut tool...... forgett its name)

copy the cut out car onto another page incase you do something by accident and copy another area.

now fiddle with the shaddow/highlight untill you have some natural darkness in the track and also some intresting highlights.

If you feel it needs to be darker still use the contrast brightness (be warned tracks with rumble strips may need to play with the hue to keep the reds bright)

Ok now...... and this is the ugly bit, i took the brush tool on the darkest black (important) and set it at 100%, quickly darken the area's you know will be black, but dont go too detailed as we need to bleed the track into the black. Dont worry too much about going over the car, we wont be using this copy.

Typically i found it looked best when the black outline followed the shape of the road. However im no expert, we all have our own take on things.

Now i used a black brush on 10% opacity and just kepy layering up the edges between the black and track untill they were nice and smooth. (takes some time.... i went back to it last thing to re-touch)

Now we can paste the car we cut earlier back into the image making sure its alligned properly (lower opacity to check)

The car will need its highlights/shaddows brightness maybe hue changing. I also took some of the hard edges off using the 10% opacity brush, For example the back wheel of the bike i blended with the black and the backwheel of my car pic.

The car may also require PP, mine has an awful reflection in the L/h Window which ruins it for me.

Would love to see some other peoples efforts. Hope the above helps.
