I've got the Promaster backdrop support system, which has a 7/16 bolt on top that is normally used to hold the center section (the backdrop support). I want to use the stands as light stands when not being used for the backdrop. I may be just a tad anal about this, but the umbrella brackets have about a 3/4 -7/8 hold that would go over a brass fitting if you used a normal 1/4 fitting.

Is there anything out there to put on this 7/16 bolt to give me 3/4 or so sleeve to fit into the umbrella bracket?

Is that a 7/16 bolt or a stud? My backdrop stand has a stud that screws off leaving the bottom section which is a stud identical to the one on my light stand. I don't suppose yours comes off like that, does it?

it's a bolt, with a wing nut on top normally. I can pull the entire piece out, which has a round bottom like a stopper (all metal of course). The normal LS-2 bought as a light stand has the normal 1/4x20 thread, which can then take the normal adapters you get with umbrella brakcets. My LS-2 came with a nylon spacer that can screw onto the 1/4x20 thread to take up more room, but it's not a very tall piece, only 1/4 tall, I'd guess.

i think the best option is to buy another LS-2; just had that little epiffany.
