I have some large prints to frame. Can anybody advise me on the best material to use as a (rigid) backing to mount the prints onto, and the best way to get them completely flat? I already have Spraymount and I'm guessing I might need some sort of specialist roller?
Thanks in advance.

I mount all of my large prints on ordinary foamboard. This is the white stuff sold at arts and crafts stores under various names such as Gator Board.
I use spray adhesive on the foamboard, then drop the print neatly on it. I put it in a home-made press that is simply two sheets of plywood with some bricks for ballast.

Thanks - I'll get down to my local art materials shop and buy some.

Bob - if you see this and you know - 3mm, 5mm or 10mm foamboard? Thanks

The art supply store I go to has 8x10 dry mount boards with a sticky back where all I do is peel off the paper, and use a brayer (sp?). This looks like a small paint roller...

5mm foamboard is what is sold here.

If you are buying foamcore, be sure to get acid free if the photo is to be mounted for an extended period of time.
I have never used the spray adhesive so I can not comment on it, but when framing I mount the photo using archival linen tape.
