Hi everyone

Now because everyone are posting skiing photos, I will post few from World cup slalom in Schladming, Austria.
Yup, another race, another rain snow combination. This year I'm really lucky. Only last week in Zagreb, Croatia, I finally saw some sun... and also probably most embarrassing moment in my photo career. But I'm not going to talk about that :P

Winner Mario Matt of Austria (M), second placed Jean-Baptiste Grange of France (L), and third placed Manfred Moelgg of Italy (R) celebrate their medals won in men slalom World Cup race in Schladming, Austria.

That will be all for today :) I will post some photos from last week's World cup races in Zagreb, Croatia, in few days. ;)

Take care,
Primoz

I simply love your creativity in 1,4 and 5.

Awesome detail of that flag of Austria in the last picture, you have a good eye!

Great work as always!

3 is probably my favorite.

Looks like a crappy day to be racing, (and standing out there photographing for that matter).

2 and 3 are amazing I would love to have ago at skiing, is it hard?

Yeah it was crappy weather for both of us... skiers and photographers. Even though skiers are out there only for 2 times 50sec, it was still bad. Track was really soft, and on top of that, they probably screwed up (that's just my personal opinion not any official explanation) with right type or mixture of "snow cement", so snow was really bad, and skiers from number 10 further had 20-30cm holes around gates already. Not really good :)
For us, it looked even worse 2 hours before start. It was raining like it would be some summer storm, but then it at least changed to snow, so it wasn't all that bad.

Hard? No not really. :) For me, skiing is one of easiest sports to shoot. And it's definitely best sport to shoot... for me of course.:)
But someone else might answer different

So what happened in Croatia? Was Zagreb the only place you were at? Croatia is one of my favorite places to visit!

This time, Zagreb was only place we were at. With bunch of free beer at party after bib draw, we didn't even see much of it :) But otherwise I spent quite few holidays in Croatia. Afterall, from my home town, I have just about 200km, and I'm on Croatian coast. But to be honest, I'm not really all that much of summer person, especially not person who could lay on beach all day long, so seaside holidays are not my top priority :)
What happened? Until some photos starts to circle around the net, I'm not telling anything :p Well it wasn't anything that bad, and most of people who are shooting skiing World cups a bit more often, already experienced it at least once, but still... after 100 or so World cups I was shooting, it never happened to me, so when it finally did, it feels pretty embarrassing.

Im not a beach person either and aside from Dubrovnik, the windy roads of the Dalmatian Coast just make me sick. I love the interior of Croatia though. My fiance has family in Bosiljevo and Karlovac. Id love to see more of that part of Europe sometime.

Just go ahead and tell us what happened! We wont laugh...too much

Not much of a summer vacation person here either, but after just spending a week on the beach working on Chile, I have to say, it was nice to get out of the -28c weather we have been having here in Montreal lately!

This year at Maribor things should be much more calm for me, much more structured and shoots already setup (and not finals). We should definitely meet up for a few beers this time, instead of just sharing a corner during finals.
