The high speed canon flash card that came with the camera is not recognised in my computers multicard reader. The card is recording pictures OK and they can be downloaded using the supplied USB lead to my computer. I am unable to identify what make the inbuilt card reader is. Do you think I require a new driver for the card reader to be able to recognise these new high speed cards? Any suggestions?
Thanks
Landy

Do other cards work in the reader?

What card is this?
I had problems using my 1GB microdrive in some readers, while smaller cards (e.g. 32 MB) worked fine.
Best regards,
Andy

What card is this?
Any card, you never specified if any card at all worked, it could have been possible the CF slot on the reader doesnt work.
A compact flash card is a compact flash card, it has to fit within certain specifications therefore the reader requires no extra drivers if it already works.

The card is the supplied genuine Canon 32mb high speed compact flash. The card reader works fine with all my other cards which include Sandisk and Canon. But they are all standard speed. As I said the card does record pictures OK and I can download them via USB but when I insert it in to my card reader I can not see it in windows explorer.

Same here, my lexar Multi reader does not recognize high speed cards. It happens with the Lexar 12 X card I have (which I wouldn't even consider high speed anymore) and the new canon card that came with the G6.
I no longer use the multi reader it works fine with a dedicated compact flash reader.
