Im going to be opening a small studio in a hip hop store to take pictures of the local hip-hop groups. I plan to green/blue screen a lot. I have an idea of urban backgrounds and feel I could do exactly what I envision by taking my own photos to use as backgrounds. Im planning to spend a thousand dollars or less. Can someone help me on suggesting what I need? I still need to buy strobes, can I achieve this with less than a thousand? thanks

I saw a chroma key screen on ebay a while back super cheap. You can buy the paint to so it won't be a huge investment

Alienbees are nice for the price, and you can get a set for pretty cheap but for green screen you really need to be sure you are lighting the background evenly and watch for spill.
It is pretty easy to get green spill in clothing and skin so a variety of flags to shade would help.
If that is all you are going to do what about painting the wall/floor green? Then you can make it fairly large which you probably need with groups. In addition you save on buying a background stand.
