Hi,
I need some help making a choise about my new camera.
I would like a 3MP camera and I'm thinking about A70 A75 or S1..
In Denmark I can get:
A75 286 USD
A70 450 USD
IS1 520 USD

My use is for home pictures, my son, other family events and picture in my holidays. I need a camera with good quality in indoors low light conditions sometimes, and my A40 was not that good there.
So, I would like to find the best ones among these 3 and prices is not the big issue here, but of course no need to use more money than necessary.
Thanks for your help in advance.
Regards

Unless the A series does everything you need and you have never found it wanting then I would simply buy another one, preferable the A80 or A95 over the A70. At the end of the day more resolution means bigger and better prints .

However I went from an A40 to an A80 (after the A40 was stolen) but actualy wish now I had gone upto a G series, although on paper they look similar, the G series is a much better camera and will let you take much much better pictures. You only have to look at some threads in the share photos forum to see it.

And Im not personaly found of the S1, it reeks to me of to much marketing before performance, altough there are some members here have taken some great photos with it, altough I wonder how much of that was the user and how much was the camera.
Of course if your only looking for a good consumer camera with a long zoom then its an excellent buy, just don't expect SLR quality from it.

Hi,
thanks for you answer...
Price was not an issue, but G series is at least 150USD more expensive than the ones named in my list!
I need a camera which is simple and all-round. I thought that the IS has the "image stabilization" feature.... a good zoom and I do not need to have huge MP!
The A40 was nice and simple and I like the "design" too.
I would like to hear some other's opinion on these 3 cameras!

I have the A70, but looking at the specs for A75 - I can not really see that there is a big difference. So your choice is then really between S1 and A75. (Think the A70 is discontinued now! BTW; The price you list for A70 must be false.. or?)
The A70 works fine for me - for the moment! As it, as the A40 have I guess, almost full manual control. Adding lenses, and/or filters, works - kind of,.. But if you only want a full manual camera, I think there are better ones out there. I often have to use the manual mode, as I am not always impressed by the Automatic mode.
