Hi to all
I will shoot an event characterized by evening spaces, stands a strong impact and colored lights.
On this occasion I will have available a 5D and 24-105 stabilized. Please can i had suggestions on how to best use this equipment in such conditions?
I thought to raise a lot ISO to keep the atmosphere environmental particularly scenic lights, entrusting to IS much for a long shutter time (and my little smile.gif steady hand. Perhaps could go even a coup for flash (underexposed) faces schiarie in the foreground, but they are also doubtful for additional space.
Someone had experience in this area? Thanks

If your a newbee like I am, shoot some prelim shots with a gray card in the image to set the WB later and "chimp" after every shot to see what effect your changes have on the histogram.

I would suggest starting with f/4 in A/V mode and adjusting ISO and shutter speed based on that histogram.

Shoot in RAW mode.

You could also use RAW plus Large JPG if you have enough memory card space. That way, the .JPG files are available for use as-is if you did your camera work properly. The RAW files, however, allow for making much simpler changes to the colors and several other characteristics of the final image.

Sure shoot in raw mode. What about a moderate flash fill in ?I would like save atmosphere and colors of the setting up. Will be pieces of art, ancient ruines, models, body guards, laser...ohi.. ohi..

What about a moderate flash fill in ?I would like save atmosphere and colors of the setting up. Will be pieces of art, ancient ruines, models, body guards, laser...ohi.. ohi..There will probably be situations where flash fill would work, but you'll have to make that judgement on a shot-by-shot basis.

If there is a basic coloration to the ambient light, you could use a colored gel over the flash to modify the light to emulate the ambient light.
