This is half of my first pano attempt. The full image is from a 20D, 12 shots from a 400mm overlooking Lake Winnipesaukee shortly after sunrise. 36,000 x 2500, 494 MB in 16-bit mode.
My wife thinks I'm crazy. Then I told her that it was print 8 inches high and 10 feet wide. Then she *really* thought I was crazy.
So this is the more interesting half, from 17,400x2100

If you wish, here is a 4200x500 version, at 665KB

Playing with pano is pretty cool. But I need another gig of RAM.

Cool :!: Definitely check out the full size image if you have the bandwidth - the little one doesn't do it justice.
Nice work, Scottes ...

Very cool Scott!! I love doing panoramic shots. But for me the most fun is panoramic macro's. I have one I shot of poinsettia's that full size would be over 7 feet long - I haven't had it printed yet - too worried about the cost.

A Poinsetta 7 feet across? ? ?
Please Share! (A smaller version, of course.)
I never thought of macro panos... Hmmm.... Some ideas are forming...
I'm hoping to do more panos, though I really wish to do multi-row ones. The cost of multi-row pano heads is pretty steep though. $500 for a Manfrotto, much more for others. I did come across an inexpensive platic one for about $100m but I seriously doubt that it would hold the 20D + 400mm lens.
As to printing, I wonder *where* you could get a 10 foot x 1 foot print done. And for how much?

I went to a local florists and asked if I could shoot pictures in thier greenhouse. They were more that happy to let me.
Of the other poinsettia pictures there, I did have the second and fourth one printed - cost close to $100 for both of them. I hope to frame them for the upcoming holiday season.
