I'm going to be the second photographer for a couple getting married, and I met up with them today for a few fun shots. All I can say is that I have a whole new respect for professional photographers now. It's quite a jump from doing it for yourself to doing for someone else. Not only to do you have to quickly change your settings to deal with changing light, but make the couple feel comfortable as well. I have a lot to learn. Anyways, on to the shots!

Congratulations!! While you are at it, don't let the pressure of working quickly distract you from the fundamentals of good photography.
Taking pics quickly may be more spontaneous, but if they turn out looking like poorly planned snap shots, your clients will not be pleased.
For example, # 3 is a really fun picture. ... But by applying the # 1 rule of photography and considering the full frame before you brush the shutter, you would have instantly noticed that there is a trash can in the background, which is a little less than attractive in an otherwise REALLY FUN looking shot. There's nothing wrong with telling your clients that what they just did would make a great photo, and allowing you to take it from another angle (with trash can out of the frame) would possibly result in a pic they might want to keep forever.
... What did we all learn years ago about looking into all 4 corners before brushing the shutter?? It still applies in the digital age!!
But nice job on the pics. Looks like they had fun, and those are the sentiments you are trying to capture for them!!

Thanks for the comments and the suggestions, I really appreciate it. I will keep those things in mind! You're right, I tried to rush too much, and will take my time in the future.

haha, she was pulling him toward her. i have other versions where he doesn't look like he's grabbing anything. they'll probably go with one of those, or i'll crop it differently. lol.

i am using image tags. see that mountain picture in the buttons? use that, but you'll have to host your photos somewhere else. i use flickr, and i also have my own website.

I think you got some smart advice in slowing down. Also.. were you bouncing your flash.. using a diffuser? The flash looks so harsh. I would NEVER send them the last shot, it's SO unflattering. I feel like sometimes, particularly male photographers, do not take into account how a woman is going to feel when she sees an unflattering photo of herself.
Keep on practicing..I look forward to seeing more.

Thanks for your post. It's invaluable to get feedback from a woman. The flash was diffused and bounced. Maybe I oversharpened, and that's why it looks that way to you. What's funny is that I think she looks beautiful in all the shots including the last one. I didn't even think that it was unflattering. Only until after you mentioned that, I could see why that shot is unflattering. In the future, I will sharpen less and look for better angles. Maybe if I took that shot above them, the photo would be more flattering. Thanks again for the insights.
