Ring flash for G9 ? non macro

Hey guys, super newbie question, thanks in advance, I also did a search before I asked but nothing seemed set.

I really want to take ring light portrait shots with my g9 can anyone recommend a piece of gear that would allow me to do this.

I also looked into the macro ring light for the G9, but does this give the same effect for portrait shots?
