Just got my G9 recently. It's a nice small camera that complements my DSLR. Here are some shots...

Wow these are really great. Did you shoot in RAW? And how did you get the first one to spiral like that?

Thanks. Shot in JPG. Spiral movement? You'll be surpised of the different abstacts that smoke can form. Just shoot in a room with windows closed and occationally give the smoke a whif of air by blowing on it and let it do its thing. Lots of patience required though...

Great Idea for abstract shots.
These shots and some recent portraits have convinced me to leave my DSLR behind when I go to the States tomorrow for a two week holiday.

Carrying all that DSLR kit in hand luggage ( the only safe way ) is a real bind when flying.

CJ, thanks! Did you by any chance work at Clark Air Base before? Everything's cool over here. We have a corrupt president that we are trying to boot out... nothing new actually. :)

Thanks for the comments. I used incense sticks here (you can also use cigarettes if you want). Shot the smoke with a wireless flash trigger with the flash (580EXII) off-cam in a dark room, manual focus. Your background should be black as well (non-reflective). Colors were achieved via PS.
