Is it best to use the same picture frame background for all pictures on your site? When does it make sense to 'mix and match', or does it? Using frames makes your pictures look more professional, don't they? Or is simplicity the best approach?

Please help me. I'm so confused...

You can look at how I did my 'frames' in my gallery http://photography.tofuboy.net

The frames in my gallery aren't part of the image, rather some html with some css. I myself prefer layouts which are simple and easy to navigate.

Thanks, Matt. Nice pics! I really would rather not get in the business of having to add a frame onto each image I post. It would be easier to do it with css. Good point.

Of course, though, does the frame as part of the image make it harder for someone to steal your images? (Not that I have anything to worry about yet... )

Doesn't make it any easier or harder... all one would have to do is right click and save as. I suppose I could add an 'anti-right click' script, but I'm not too fond of stuff like that... as there is always a way to save an image that is hosted on the web. Feel free to view my page source on my pages to see how I did the borders... pretty easy.

If you're concerned about people stealing your images, you can always slap a huge copyright notice on them, but that might detract people from your site... I know I don't like seeing images that have copyright notices going straight through the middle of the image.

And thanks for the compliment on my images :)

I use css on my site as well to put a frame, but it's scripted to always put it on and sometimes the picture looks better without so I'm thinking of adding a way to turn it off on the admin pages. Take a look, if you want. It's at: http://www.thelensflare.com

Your e-mail forms don't seem to be working. I was attempting to request to swap links... anyways, I've added a link to your site from mine. Feel free to add me to yours if you find it fitting. http://www.tofuboy.net/links.php
