Quantify losses due to UV filters

Does anyone know of a website that attempts to show and/or quantify the photographic losses encountered when using various UV filters? I'm just wondering what the downsides are to using a UV/lens protector filter.

Also on wide angle lens and full sensor size tou can end up with vingeting (loss of image in the corners). this is why so filters identify themselfs as thin or narrow.

Also you are placing something else between you sensor and the image. This will always cause some image quality loss. Here is where $$$= better
