model/actor headshots

Somewhere I saw a great thread on this subject, but now after searching for it I can not find it. I am looking for info on taking the standard headshot for models, such as lighting, background, clothes, etc. Also, anyone have other recommendations regarding pics that should be taken for a portfolio? Thanks.
