Hi, i am in the market for a new photo printer but dont know what to get or where to start. the specs that i'm looking at in particular are:

High Yield
High Gloss
High resolution images w/ vivid colors
able to make 4 x 6 prints
Photos printed in 15 seconds or less (the faster the better)
borderless prints, or a blade that automatically trims the pictures to 4 x 6
printer to be somewhat portable (less than 100 lbs)

if any of you have or know of any good printers that meet some or all of these specs if you could please comment it would be greatly appriciated. i'm looking on spending up to $3,000

I would think that almost any high end printer would meet your criteria. Decide what brand you like---Epsons seem to be favored by professional photographers.

Epson 3800 [i have that recently and it is amazing Excellent].
Epson 4880
if you can get Epson 7880, then you will have the printer for your entire life.

i wish if i have uch more money then i will go with Epson 9880, as i have 3800 17" i don't think i want 24" more, i will go for larger 44" enough for me, i don't think i will use 11880 as 64" that much even i would like to, but really i like to print larger than 24" or 36" and i know when and where i need those large sizes.

Good luck.

Whats the largest size you want to print at? I use a 3800 and ipf5000. But i recentyl bought a r280 Epson to take with me to events and it prints 4x6 i about 8 seconds or so. I paid $59 for it at Compusa goig out of business sale.
