Well, I had never shot a wedding before. Last friday i did my first. We got 9 inches of snow right before it and made things hectic and a mess. Took the limo about 30 minutes to get up the driveway. Here are a few i like... let me know what you think... mainly shot with 5D 24-70 or 85L....

You did good, properly exposed. I'd get tighter crop & shoot wide open to isolate subject(s) and a bit different angles, framing, but that's my opinion only ;) yours might be different.

I'm not a professional so I can't comment on the technical side of things but as someone who likes photography I like them...I like them a lot!

Good job for a first time, nice exposures and it's refreshing to see someone who used flash and didn't get pinlights.

first question i have is what do you mean by pinlight?
i think the pictures are ok. however some of them seem to be straight on, i dont do this kind of photography, so someone correct me if i am wrong, but i think the pictures would be better if you shot more from an angle, and if the faces were more from the side, especially on the first few.

as i said i dont do this type of photography so its hard for me to criticize yours but, thats the way i see it/
but i really like that last photo and the one of the child,

i would of attempted to get a shorter DOF on some of the shots, like #4, but id say you definantly did well for a first wedding.

Hah, well thanks guys. I would've done other angles if i had been more confident...just needed to get these right the first time..then i can mess around!

Pinlights are hard tiny dots of light reflection in the middle of the pupil.

I believe they are also called catch lights and are generally preferred, giving the photo more life.

Very nice first effort by the way!
