Hi, I'm Jim. I have been a very[b]serious lurker here for a long time. Guess I should have introduced myself earlier.
Many thanks to all who have provided me (and others) with some really good advice, direction and ideas. You are more appreciated than you know.
My D60 has been a terrific travelling companion for 3 years now, and it is my first serious camera. Had a Blacks 35mm P+S, but really didn't do much with it, a gift that did not catch my attention.
As a Canadian, I suffer through the "buy local" and save money of importing, but I have done a mix of both. Camera and lens have all been bought local at Ginn Photo and Henry's in Ottawa, and used from M Toone of local forum fame: a terrific lady to deal with. Some filters, tripod and odds and ends have been purchased outside of Canada. Local support counts, but C$400 savings shipping in is not an easy thing to give up. "L" is expensive! :(
I hope to begin to contribute to the forum, and look forward to being a more active participant in the future.
Thanks again, and regards to all.
