I've recently posted some pictures that people have told me look over exposed and i thought it was strange as my screen has been calibrated every fortnight with a huey pro and on my screen the exposures look spot on every time.
My Desk is of normal height IMO but my monitor is slightly higher than eye level if that makes sense and i have calibrated the screen from my normal sitting position of how i look at the screen. I stood up last night and as my eyes were looking down on the screen as opposed to looking up slightly i saw that the picture did indeed look slightly over exposed.

Has anyone else found that they have had this problem before and rather than buy a lower desk how i could rectify it(The chair cannot go any higheror i would not fit under the desk)

It seems strange that a monitor would have such a difference in color and calibration with just an inch or 2 of height movement..

The monitor is a samsung syncmaster 22" widescreen if that is any help?

Interesting. I use the Huey and have had excellent results. I went back and looked at some of the images you posted and have to agree most look a tad overexposed. I dropped a couple into Lightroom and could easily see the highlights getting clipped. Regardless of your monitor location I would expect you can tell if there's clipping in whatever editing program you're using.

As for height. I have my monitor at desk level but I have to elevate my chair higher to get an ergonomic position for my wrists. I simply drop my chair when I need it under the desk out of the way.

Here's one of your images I quickly edited just the highlights in Lightroom (I'd use layers in PS to get the waterfall where I want it). Although the colour changed a little with the compression there is more detail visible than your original post. Perhaps the angle of your monitor is affecting how you see the image's brightness. I'd try raising your chair and see if it makes a difference.

Hope you figure this out - I'm sure it's a source of frustration for you. Good luck.
