Six Day Slide @ Harpers Ferry

So, my full time gig is shooting for my friend's band Six Day Slide. They had a last minute gig at Harpers Ferry last night, the kind where you do the venue a favor, filling in an empty slot and bringing people to a show in exchange for a slot on a bigger show or 2 later in the spring.

Anyway, like I said in my Dusty Rhodes posting, the lighting was decent, in certain places and at certain times. Anyway, here are a few from SDS.

Oh, it was Matt Beals, the Bass player, birthday yesterday, so I made a strategic allocation of some Jager shots for the band to celebrate on stage. I'm a bad friend....

i like the first the best, though it could lose some space off the top (most could use a bit of cropping).

i've not shot @ harper's ferry yet. gotta hit that place sometime.

I think the black space helps pull the eye to the object of interest. Also, the bands I work for prefer the empty space so they can put logos or other text/graphics without ruining the rest of the shot. So, since my clients don't like cropping the pics, I never do... But, I see your point.

Harper's is a great place. I'll be there again on March 25th for Pat Mcgee... SDS is opening that show as well, so should be a good time. We're (SDS) going to be headlining there sometime at the end of spring.

you can always post the cropped shots, and save the uncropped for the client. ;)

i just saw that American Music Club is gonna be @ Harper's soon, so i will definitely make that gig. haven't seen them in over a decade.

Harper's is fun to shoot, slow ap to capture action though...
Pics #3, 7 is the hardest shot-there is very little light in that corner.

The WBCN Rumble is coming up...a lot fo good local acts this year.
