I am so heated. I bought my 30D and 2 weeks after I got it the 40D was released. I just pulled the trigger on the macbook last week. It has not even arived yet and the new one is released. SOMEONE SHOOT ME!. What should I do?

Option #1. Keep the macbook that should be here tomarrow. Get 100 dollars back from apple. (I have 4GB of ram ready for it and a hard drive should be coming soon)

Option #2. Return the macbook.(Ill have to pay shipping) Pay an additional 100 dollars and get a 2.4GHZ macbook. I would be forced to wait another dreadful 2 weeks before using my first mac.

WHAT DO I DO!?!?! Its killing me!

Upgrade. so you lose shipping? Suck it up - this way you'll get what you want. Bad luck you ordered at the wrong time - same thing always happens to me!

Just fix the problem! If the most you lose is shipping - small price to pay!

I would return it. You have waited this long, what is another couple of weeks. I am worried about that happening with my iPhone, I am trying to time it right so this doesn't happen, but sometimes that is impossible to do.

BTW maybe you should have watched the rumor sites a little, it was almost definite that a new MBP would be out in February. Oh Well.

but why would you have to wait ? return it and head over to mall and pick it up .. regardless if shipped of picked up.. you still have to pay tax .. unless you're configuring it through apple .. which i dont think so since you've ordered memory and hdd that you're installing yourself .. so why go through apple.com?

and how would you get $100 back if you keep the current macbook?

i am currently in the same boat .. i just bought my macbook last weekend ... now i have to pay a restocking to get the new updated macbook .... grrr !

I knew that the Macbook pro was going to come out from macrumors.com. I had no Idea about the macbook though. Im now realizing that the new macbook has a 3mb l2 cache rather than 4mb l2 cache of the previos one. I wonder if this makes a big difference...

I have to send it back to california (I live in new york) because I bought it refurbished. Therefore I would also have to pay for shipping which is about 60 dollars. The I have to wait untill they return the money to my account. This can take anywhere from 3-5 buisness days. After that I would have to but a new macbook instead of refurbished which would be an additional 100 dollars.

I would get 100 dollars back if I kept it because the price went down 100 within 14 days of purchase.

I'm thinking I am going to just keep the one I get. I am more than happy with my 30D. I don't think it will be any different with this macbook. Plus I will get 100 Dollars back which will go towards my 70-200 2.8L!!! lol

Where did you get the 4gb ram from? I'm assuming it's 2x 2gb modules? I'm about to get a Macbook, but couldn't find any 2gb ram modules for it on Newegg. Thanks.

Yea. I changed my mind. Apparently apple will cover the shipping so I am going to cough up the extra 100 and buy the new one. I think im doing this because I know the buyers remorse will bother me for at least a week. Not that anyone cares.... lol

I think that is good, you will be happy that you did it, computers change so much that it is good to at least try to future proof yourself a little. I am learning that right now, I wanted a macbook pro, but went with windows, now I regret it.

I just realized another good thing about me getting a new mac rather than refurbished. i get a 100 dollar rebate on a printer. I think I am going to to get one of the 100 dollar canon photo printers just to have it for free. SWEET!!!!
