Well, it does not have gills so I need some help with ID of this one :). This is a pic I took a while ago and came across it while looking though my files. It was found upstate NY during the summer.

Any ideas?

Centipeed maybe?? Looks to not have 1,000 but only a hundred legs? Could be way off though :)

Nice shot

LOvely capture- think it is a millepede - seems to have two legs per segment on each side (for most segments anyway).

A misnamed millipede? It definitely fits millipede but is rather short...

maybe a minipede....lol
it does resemble a millipede. but it looks more flat like a woodlouse,
the millipedes i see here in florida are more round-bodied...
nice shot.

It does look a lot like the critters in these links. I was unsure because it did not have a lot of legs like a millipede, but the legs did not seem long like a lot of centipedes I have found. This one is about 2" long and the diameter of a pencil. But like I said, it does not have gills, so I am just guessing :)
