Hi,
I just got this and when I plug it into the camera, I can use the button to take a picture, but the LCD display on the switch doesn't work. Do I need to do something or do I send it back for a replacement. Thank you.

The battery isn't needed in the remote to take a picture, so check the battery (pop it out and make sure it doesn't have the plastic strip still on from the factory).

Haha! Actually, it's worse. The battery was in upsidedown. Man, am I stupid. Thank you.
So, it just automatically shots off then?

It uses so little power that I don't think it ever actually shuts off. I think they estimate a 2+ year battery life or something like that.

Oh, ok. That's fine then.

Yea thats what the manual states. Kinda weirded me out at first... a device that NEVER turns off, but there it is.
