The grip shutter release only (when in Portrait orientation) or neither shutter release? Are you using the shutter release or the * button to focus?

Did you press the button all the way down? Maybe the grip button is deeper than the shutter button on the camera.

Is the power switch on the grip turned to the OFF position?

the grip shutter is the one not releasing. i can always get the body shutter to release.
i am using the shutter buttons to focus and release, and the grip button DOES focus.

i am pushing the button all the way down. i have had and used the grip for 3 months with no problems

the grip is set to on.

I did this once:oops::oops:. Make sure the on/off switch on the grip is on. I struggled for half a day until I chanced upon the switch. Viola!!!:lol:It worked!! But it was still embarrassing. Hope you can just be embarrassed too.

Send it Back! J.K.

I had an issue with my 30D and Grip with a Lag of the shutter releasing. I had to send it to Canon and they repaired it.. Not sure if this is the same but you never know.. Call them...
