How can I fade an image to look like a "ghost" image? I tried opacity but when I save the image I lose the opacity.

Changing the opacity of the layer that contains your "ghost" image should do the trick. How are you saving the file? Have you tried flattening the layers first (although this should be necessary)?

Thanks for the reply, I must have tried to do it without flattening. The only problem is doing it with opacity doesn't give me the ghost effect. I guess I used the wrong term, maybe what I need is transparency. Is there a way to do that?

By the way PacAce, your only around 40 miles from me.

You can try using a separate layer with a background color underneath. Then adjust the opacity of the top layer (image) for the effect you want.
