What I am asking for is

I would like to make a career in photography. and I am getting a job soon an publix. myb current budjet is around 300-400$ and I have an Kodak camera not sure exacly what it is.
and I need some good advice on what i should do to get better, learn more, and look up about photography.
Thanks! :)

Nikon Canon or any of the brands will give you a decent camera to start with, the problem is 300-400 wont get much, a point & shoot in that range would be fairly good

you might look for a 10d or a fuji s1 or s2 to get started you will then probably have to get a lens, 10d & s1 are probaly going to eat most of your cash to start with then look for a kit lens in the 100-150 range, thats about the best I can offer right now, the other option is save a little and when Income tax comes back buy a little nicer, canon Nikon fuji dont get to hung up on the name they all perform pretty well

maybe a rebel 300d with kit lens or 50 1.8 to learn on. it has the right functions just not all the features.

What format are you planning to shoot with...film or digital? If film, you can easily get one in your price range.
