Well when I'm upset I'm known to do really stupid things.. After fighting with my girl (who still won't talk to me..) I was looking at my Rebel.. thinking , oh its so big I never take it out, what a waste of money, blah blah blah.. I actually sold the thing and got a G6. The g6 is nice for a digicam but its no 300d replacement.. After only a day I sent it back to the store. They're gonna credit it to my account and sell me a new rebel and kit lens.. Out of this I'm still out of a telephoto lens..512 cf card and a job.. So now I get to play with the crappy kit lens and only 256mb cf. God I hate my life more and more every day recentally :( Nothing ever goes right...
Sorry if this doesn't belong here.

Take solice in your photogrphy if you can.. go out and enjoy the fall colors with your spare time.
And get on your hands and knees and beg forgiveness from your Girlfreind!

Why not take the Rebel back, get the cash back and buy some used gear on the board. like a used Rebel? Then use the saved cash to buy some better used gear to make the set better?

Well, if it comes down to choosing between the girlfriend and the camera, take the camera. We have another member who is currently serving his military obligation in the Norwegian Army. He had to choose between a girlfriend and a new lens for his 10D, and we set him straight. He bought the lens and found a new girlfriend.
We'll fix everything for you. Just give us a chance.
Really.....I hope it all works out for you.

Ahh, the camera and stuff has nothing to do with her really.
She believes everything anyone says no matter what pretty much.. Some stupid guy who likes her made something up that pissed her off at me so she won't even reply to email.. or talk in person :\ No idea what the hell he said.
Anyways, I can only get credit for the G6 I sent back so I have to get my Rebel from them new :\ I just will miss having some sorta telephoto lens. And to think, she did this the day before I moved up here to NYC from Cleveland FOR HER. Now I'm all alone in a very scary city.. *cries more*

I wish I could follow in the doctorate of Bemondo, I'm at the 1dMKII vs Girlfriend point.. the problem is she'd just change the locks on the house! :D
Things will get better, check out the FM forums they have a very active buy-sell section and I've had good luck both buying and selling used gear from there.

Ogurt48 - There's something very liberating about starting from scratch. It's a big adventure and adventures are never comfortable things but think about it - you're getting a total life do-over! Look for the possibilities in your new situation. You may look back on this as the best time of your life.

And consider this, NYC is quite possibly the best city to be in for photography. You've got two of the best camera stores (B&H and Adorama) in your backyard (not to mention almost 100% of the shysters!). You've got fantastic street photography potential, 4 full seasons, scenes from bustling city to farmhouses to beaches to mountains to vineyards all within a few hours of you. You've also got LOADS of potential girlfriend replacements - maybe one who will want to model for you. :)
I'm originally from New York, but didn't get into photography seriously until I moved to Florida. Trust me, while the father and homeowner in me loves Florida, the photographer in me wishes he was back in NY.
Make the most of it!
- Joe (wishing he had fall colors to photograph instead of the same damned palm trees.. :D )

Congratulations, Ogrt, for realizing that life is crap. Well, sometimes there's a gold nugget in it, but hey, the more you collect, the more they drag you down.
OK, this will get me nowhere.. I guess what I'm trying to tell you is, think before you act, and go for quality instead of affordability or practicality. I do that with photography, at least. In my collection the only lens that stands out in the negative is the Zenitar, which is an utterly temporary lens as right now I'm about to buy some fat studio flashes and other studio related stuff. Also, I think I might be getting some money out of this soon. At first I've only had a 50mm lens, for 4 months, so no luxury that you're having right now and it was quite enough for me.
Just look forward.
