I'm planning on traveling to the Urkraine for 3 weeks this fall, and needed to be able to use my Canon G2 for the entire trip. The decision I needed to make was either to buy more CF cards for the camera or a mass storage device that could hold 5-20 gig of photos and mp3's. So I was off shopping. The first device that I bought was a Minds@work 5gig drive. When I got it I liked the design and the cool blue LCD. But on day two the device LCD had encountered a problem. I had to call Cruxworks and return the MindStore device. It took 1 month to get credit back from Cruxworks. It that point I decided to do more research on all of these devices. I finally found the Terapin Mine which I have not seen in any stores. I have had my Mine now for 5 months and really appreciate all the features it has. The best thing it does is make use of 10meg ethernet and USB ports. I like being able to connect via cat5 to my router to upload/download picture or music mp3's. All features work very well and I would recomment this device to anyone. If you are going to buy, I bought my Mine at http://www.buy.com :) Buy.com is the best on-line shopping experience that I have had. Great store to buy from.
There are to many features to list, so here is the link to Terapins webpage

Here are some other devices that may be a good match for your application. I would look at the Nixvue Vista, it has a built in LCD for viewing. Here is a link to dprviews.com:

Here is a picture of my Terepin Mine connected at home to my switch.

hi thx for the tip! :)

i was just wondering, with your mine, can u connect your G2 to it directly via the USB cable?? what about the drivers etc? was it complicated to set it up?

or do u actually use a PCMCIA Adapter to plug your CF in to transfer photos?

thx! :)
