Do I need the LAH-DC20 Lens Adapter/Hood Set for adding close-up and tele lens to my S5? Is there anything better or is this my only choice? What close-up lens do you all recommend? Also should I go 52 or 58mm???
Thanks,
Bang

Ok, I found the Lensmate website. I kept on going to Lensmate.com instead of LensmateOnline. Big difference.
So now do I want the 52mm or 58mm adaptor? Need some imput on this.
Thanks,
Bang

Well, if you plan to use Canon add on lenses, you will need the 58 mm, but from wht I understand, if you use products sold by Lensmate, the 52 will work just fine, plus I hear their lenses are very good. 52mm filters are some cheaper to buy, but in my case, I already had several 58mm fillters on hand, plus I wanted to use the Canon lenses.

Same here, most of my stuff is 58mm so for ease I just stay with the 58mm.Well, if you plan to use Canon add on lenses, you will need the 58 mm, but from wht I understand, if you use products sold by Lensmate, the 52 will work just fine, plus I hear their lenses are very good. 52mm filters are some cheaper to buy, but in my case, I already had several 58mm fillters on hand, plus I wanted to use the Canon lenses.

Thanks for the replies, maybe I'll just get one of each as some people have recommended on other forums???
I really like this little camera. :p

I stayed with 58 mm because I have 3 canon EF lenses that take 58. Leaves me with lots of options and any 58 mm filter I buy fits 4 different lenses on 3 different bodies, XT, K2 and S5IS.

Cool, one last question, well maybe not a last but for now.
If I go with the Lensmate adapter in 52mm and the Raynox DCR-250 Super Macro Filter it says the Raynox has 43mm threads so do I need a step down ring? I didn’t see that size 52-43mm or any combination listed on the web site.
Thanks again.

I believe the DCR-250 comes with an adapter kit as described below. Of course, you want to be sure, but I got the below text from the Lensmate site.
(The DCR-250 comes mounted in a spring-loaded carrier which clips into threads from 49mm - 69mm.)

you don't necessarily need this but to mount it permanently it is the best way to go. The 250 will just snap onto the adapter. The step down is a lot nicer way to do it, I just got my setup. Its perfect

Have to agree that the step down ring seems much more secure than the so called spring-loaded carrier.
