Here is a scene on the coast of Gozo, the day I was there it was pretty grey and overcast and this is what came out of the camera.

I like the picture but the grey sky did not really do it for me so I played around with PS3 and Nik and this was about the most realistic sky I could get.

I didn't really like it so two days later when the weather was a lot better I went back and I got this.

Now that I am revisiting these I think I prefer the original grey sky version. Sometimes choice is not always a good thing.

i think i like the first one better too - there is a warmth to the rock formation that is lost in the 3rd and tends to look a bit washed out

Hi Neil,
I like the direction of the pp but if you look to the left of the large rock in the foreground you see bright blue water which is very unnatural. I think overall the blue saturation is a little too much in the water. I also like the warmth of the rocks in the first 2 images.
Great shot.

Second one for me, I am a sucker for a blue sky:D

I think I'd like the third one the best if you just warm up the rocks

I like your second shot of the first series Neil. Maybe a little more blue in the sky and water. I don't like the slightly bleached rocks in the third and latest edit.

Blue sky guy. +1 for #2

I like #1 because the rock formations jump out almost uniformly across the photo; #2 is all right, but sky is a little too blue for me.

I like the intensity of the water in #1 between the two rock formations.

This is a fine uniform photo.

I like the original ... the gray sky matches the bleak look of the rocks ....

Neil, I don't know whether you have Lightroom, but if you do, try adjusting the Vibrance slider on the original photo. It brings out colour in undersaturated areas, without unnaturally boosting everything else.

If you had image editing enabled I cold post an example, but as you don't..... :(
