Question on Off Shoe Cord 3

Just wondering if it is possible to "stack" two of these cords to make one 8foot long cord.

You could do, but you'd be better to extend a standard one. The OCE-3 is only designed for use with a flash bracket really.

Well if you extended an exisiting one, you'd have much more flexibility with length and things, also you could rid of the springy curly wiring.

What are you wanting to use it for?

I want to use it on a stand or held by someone off camera on top of a monopod for extra height. I dont mind the springy cord and i feel two gives me more flexibility as i can use one or two depeding on the situation. I mainly want to know if it will work 100%

It would indeed work, but have you actually handled or own one of the cords already? Just cause the tension of the cords once extended to about 3 feet would likely make shooting with it attached uncomfortable.

I already have one cord but wouldnt mind having it longer. The tension doesnt worry me too much.

Angus, I think you can modify the cord your self with a computer cable of some sort. Don't ask me what though :p.

This is the first time I have heard this. What is different about it that would prevent you from hand holding it?

They're just short cables, with a fair bit of tension once stretched, it's the same with all the off camera cables, the purpose is really just for using with a flash bracket. Though they are usable handheld a short distance from the camera.
