I've got the gear and perhaps an eye for whats digigenic. Now how do I get there with my kit dry, dust free, and secure?

Think Los Angeles County. 500 and something square miles.

Thanks

PS

Looking for the best raingear for Canon EOS and long lenes. True, not much rain in LA. But the sky opens wide on occasion.

Pelican cases. They're watertight, with a gasket around the lip, so should keep dust out as well. As for securing any particular carrying case to your bike, that's a whole 'nother issue. I'd suggest seeing what size closed luggage carriers are available for it. If they aren't big enough, then you may have to resort to a car.

For carrying cases for your gear, you could look into a backpack. Most are water resistent, and some are waterproof.

BMW R1100RT or R1150RT, BMW system cases and a Givi Maxia 52L top case. Add in some padding and you're set. The top case will easily swallow a sizeable back pack, and you can stuff other stuff in the side case.

I travel with this setup regularly carrying my gear plus clothes. Works well for me.

Thanks for your suggestions. I will check them out... I've got the latest So Cal "Cycle Trader" and I'll get back with the results of the perusal.

I shoot some 30,000 soccer images pert year. In rainy weather, I have been using the "arms" cut off an old mountain parka for protection. I velcro the wrist end to the hood and pull the cut shoulders over my 10d and Mk2 bodies.

Is there a bette commercial alternative? Does anyone use neopreme glove-type materials?

Thanks
