HP has invented a new LCD technology - they say that in 5 years it will be possible to make A4-sized screens with 7000x5000 pixels. Your screen will look as sharp as a print! That would be interesting. Also, the production cost of those screens will be only 20% of what it costs to produce an LCD screen today.

I can't wait! I'm not going to hold my breath, but it will be nice when they're on the shelves.

Just a case of scaling up (or actually increasing yields) on some of the current screens.

The new Epson digital wallet thingy has a screen that is 212 dpi which is approaching print quality (working on 300dpi for a print). However, the screen is only 3.8 inches across. Only a case of scaling that up to A4 with good yields to reduce the cost I would have thought.
