Well, yesterday I was shooting near a slow moving stream (luckily). I had my Canon 50mm 1.8 in my coat pocket and when I bent over, it roll out, bounced on the stream bank just missing a big rock, and went right into the stream. I was able to reach in and grab it. It does not appear to have any water on the interior, but I am going to give it a few days to dry out before I try it. Anyone have any other suggestions other than not to wear that coat anymore. Anything I should do with the lens?
Thanks,
Kris

If there water was dirty, you might get a film on the element or some dirt in there, so yes, wait. If you see any dirt or a film of whatever, have the lens properly cleaned.
BTW, who the hell puts a lens in there pocket? hahahaha.

Too funny.. it never occured to me but makes sense it would float
Let it dry a good long time.
And I allways have lenses stuffed in my pockets!

I toss lenses in my pockets all the time! The problem is that my fleece only has enough pockets to hold two lense. Time to get a photographer's vest!
Halloween is around the new corner, maybe we could zall go bobbing for 50's.

That's great, I wish I would have thought of that!
Yeah, why carry my whole camera bag when I only need two lenses. I have enough stuff to carry as it is.

Maybe with half a dozen in a photographer's vest you wouldn't need a life jacket!
