After about 3 months use, the NB2LH battery that came with my new digital Rebel XT just wouldn't hold a charge. I think it was like a 720 mah? I would charge it up, put it in, go to a basketball game, and after about 10 shots, the camera would stop with a low battery indicator.
I figured the battery was a dud. No problem, so I ordered a new battery from Sterlingtek per recommendations on this site. I think it is a 1700 mah? Anyways, bigger than the dud. Anyways, got it in the mail, charged it til the light went green, popped it in my camera and went to the basketball game. After shooting for about 3 quarters (maybe an hour) and probably about 80-100 shots, BAM, dead battery again! Can anyone give me any suggestions as to why this may be happening? Could it be the camera itself?
Any thoughts greatly appreciated... As I said the camera is only a few months old.
As an aside, sometimes I just shoot away and then trash the bad pictures after I get home and have downloaded to my PC. Sometimes though, I review my pics while still at the game, and delete the bad ones then and there. Does this practice unduly tax the battery?
