Greetings from Singapore,

I've just bought a S30, I work a lot on Windows NT OS. The S30 does not come with TWAIN / USB for NT support. :(

How can I connect the S30 camera direct to the NT computer to download the images/ use the "S30 camera manager - upload settings to S30 / remote capture" as well?

TIA!

Does your computer have working USB ports? I didn't think that USB support was ever implemented in NT.

Hi Russ,

Thanks,

yup, USB is not natively supported bt NT - MS Knowledge Base Q196661 :(

however, there are 3rd party USB/NT enable software - MS Knowledge Base Q298858 :)
eg. www.bsquare.com - USB for NT4.0

check tis' site www.usbman.com

----
btw, can I then use a RS232 end to NT/PC & the 'micro' USB end to the S30 instead?...(there r drivers for the G1 for NT from RS232)..anyone tried for S30?

any insights much appreciated!

cheers

It really depends on what these serial-to-usb cords/adapters do. I couldn't tell you what you would need without seeing one.

A G1 driver for serial almost definitely wouldn't work, as it's much older than the S30.

I'd say that you should try finding a serial CF card drive, but I don't know if you'd be able to, anymore.

That said, do you have to stick with NT? It's definitely one of the clumsier operating systems out there, and there are no multimedia capabilities.
